About

Alex is a neurodivergent artist, painter and incessant dabbler from the south of England, now happily settled in his spiritual home of Scotland. He creates works across a variety of styles and mediums in a style that could be described as Pop Art meets Art Nouveau meets pulp cover illustration.

Alex’s works are an eclectic mix of themes and materials — pop culture references, art nouveau/deco, golden era pulp illustration, and anything else that catches his interest. Blend this with intense confessionals and raw emotional honesty, and his work becomes a heady mix of fun and intensity that very much reflects his personality.

Alex is autistic, ADHD and aphantasic (he cannot visualise images in his mind — yet still creates prolifically). He has a long history of struggles with mental health and uses art as a form of therapy. He also hosts a podcast on the healing power of creativity and practical tips for using the creative process for mental health maintenance.

When not in the studio, Alex works as a data scientist and co-runs the CREW Arts community, helping others find their own creative voice.
