CREW Books is a warm and welcoming community of readers and storytellers, led by Kirstie Rogers and Kathleen Stevenson. At the heart of the group’s activity is the thriving Book Hub at the Auchterarder Picturehouse – a cosy, inviting space where visitors can browse a wide selection of preloved books and find inspiration for their next literary adventure. The hub offers a relaxing atmosphere where people can settle in with a cuppa and a biscuit, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a quiet moment surrounded by stories.
In addition to nurturing a love of reading, CREW Books regularly hosts creative sessions inspired by literature. These workshops bring books to life through crafts, conversations, and hands-on activities, making them enjoyable for readers of all ages and interests.
One of the group’s proudest achievements is its involvement in the Auchterarder Book Festival, which has grown into a much-loved annual event celebrating Scottish writers, storytellers, and imaginative minds. The festival features author talks, storytelling sessions, and engaging workshops that showcase the richness of Scotland’s literary scene.
By 2025, the festival had expanded into two dedicated events – the Kids Festival and the Adult Festival – allowing CREW Books to tailor experiences to different audiences and further strengthen its role as a cultural cornerstone in the community.
